Harold and Maude

Today, Ms. Goldin put on a film for us and it's called "Harold and Maude." For some odd reason, my first impression of this movie was that it's strange and trippy. The film was actually humorous as well. It may seem strange and trippy but there are times where it's just flat out hilarious. A good thing about this movie that I noticed was the background music they constantly played. The beginning is quite confusing but hopefully I'll start to pick up the plot as the film progresses. So far, it seems like the mother of Harold is trying to get him to live the life she wants him to live and he tries to drift away from his current life. It's evident that Harold fakes his death in order to gain his mother's attention. As he continues to fake his death, his mother is starting to get fed up with all this nonsense and she sends him somewhere to get some counseling.

Since we didn't finish watching the movie, I'll add more to this blog when I'm finished watching the film...

Music Video Feedbacks

Gabe (Movie Number 27): It was funny and short but I didn't understand it.

Alexa, Kelly, Tessa (Pokemon Theme Song): It was really funny. I loved it. It made me laugh so much.

Jessica Martinez (I Want to be Free): The singing was amazing. I would like to see more of it. Keep up the good work.

(Lamb Story): It was a bit weird and to be honest with you guys, I didn't quite understand it. But it's okay. You guys have a lot of potential.

Chris Meza and Kathryn Izumi (The Proctor Abridgment Blues): I like how they actually wrote their own song instead of using another song and the fact that they edited the pictures to go along with the beat.

Anthony Neele and Devon (Can't Feel Our Face): Even though it was pretty long and it almost lost my attention in the beginning, they redeemed themselves at the end by putting on a little dance for us.

I will post more when I see the rest of the other music videos.

First Ever Class Concert

Last week, everyone in class presented their very own musical piece of art. Some were hard to understand, some were funny, and some told a story about their life. In courtesy of the class concert held last week, here's my take on it.

Kelly, Alexa, Tessie (Pokemon Theme Song): It was hilarious. I like their re-make of the pokemon theme song.

Matt, Ben, Jeff, and Joseph (Questionable Characters): Their rap was funny and it was creative as well. I like how they were being themselves in the process of recording their song.

Chris Q and Isaac (My Life): The song was hard to understand but I like how they talked about their life in the song.

Devon and Anthony (Can't Feel Our Face): I like their flow. Their song was pretty good.

Deegan, Kenny, Alex, Chris K, Mark (Lamb Story): It was weird. That's all I got to say. However, it was really unique so that's a plus.

Juan and Santiago (Random Beats): I like their beats. I couldn't have done it better myself.

Jessica: She would make a pretty good producer and her friend has a nice voice. It was beautiful.

Nairi, Stephanie, Ani (Creepy Aliens): It wasn't creepy at all. It was really creative and it caught my attention.

Gabriel: This musical piece of art has a lot of potential to become a very good work of art.

Heidi: I like the sound of it. It was weird but good.

Leslie (Sad Happy): It didn't make me sad at all but I still like it nonetheless.

Varsik, Phillip, Justine, Vanessa (My Song 6): It was really good. That's all I got to say :)

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Today, we finished watching the film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and it was amazing. In all honesty, this is probably one of the best films I have ever seen. The story was told in the perspective of Jean-Dominique Bauby and he actually wrote the novel by just blinking his left eye. The film is about what his life is like after suffering from a massive stroke that left him with a severe condition called locked-in syndrome. The film also includes flashbacks of his life before the stroke. I must say that this film is truly inspirational because it inspired me to pursue my dreams even though I might run into an obstacle in the future that might possibly make me walk away from my dreams. Overall, I love this film and it was really depressing. You guys should go watch it! =]]]]
